ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
Reports To: Corporate Compliance Manager
Reporting Level: Individual Contributor
Geographic Scope: APMEA
This position will be reliable for monitoring and reporting on business activities across the group ensuring compliance with the Standards of Business Conduct (SoBC). The role will enable the data-driven compliance objective of the Corporate Compliance programme (Delivery with Integrity) by being the first line in proactively monitoring for risk indicators in business activities and working with markets to manage and mitigate any identified risk. Furthermore, you will be maintaining the technology and reporting systems that underpin the Compliance Programme thereby ensuring the sustainability continuity of the Corporate Compliance programme.
What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?
Working under the supervision of the BIC programme Subject Matter Experts to provide support with the delivery and execution of the second line assurance services to the global organisation including enabling and maintaining technology capabilities that support the Compliance programme. Whilst ensuring the highest level of integrity in the way business is conducted, deliver value to business through compliance process efficiencies, data/information transparency and good governance.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Supporting BIC’s programme with the deployment of a data-driven compliance monitoring through proactive monitoring of BAT systems including transactional and master data
- Performing Compliance reviews of alerts generated for potentially high-risk transactions in the enterprise data
- Working with Market SMEs to alert them to emerging risks through
- Working with the business groups to identify further reporting demand to support compliance monitoring
- Prioritising and coordinating delivery of identified requirements in accordance with project methodologies
- Supporting the business adoption and embedding of a data driven compliance monitoring system
- Supporting with maintenance and operations of Compliance technology capabilities (incl. SoBC Portal, G&E, Compass, PowerBI dashboards)
- Supporting BIC to report from SoBC and other training platforms to BAT committees
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Experience Required
- Relevant working experience in an established Compliance, Risk Management or Audit/Assurance role
- Hands on functional experience working with BAT systems (SAP ECC and PowerBI essential)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced global environment with multiple deliverables while ensuring completeness
- Experience in global strategic project and business management, leading and driving change with minimal oversight
- Relevant experience in law, ethics or finance
- Implementing, managing, or having worked in an environment with a compliance program, informed by a compliance framework
- Implementing and/or managing compliance controls in a highly digitised and regulated environment, with tight regulatory timeframes
- Using data analytics tools and analytical methods
- Relevant management experience
- Participation in introduction of new process and systems initiatives/projects – specifically delivering business requirements, conducting user acceptance testing, training, and documentation
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Affinity with technology management including system administration, development and security management
- Data and statistical analytics skills
- Knowledge of compliance related regulations – such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorism Financing, Tax Evasion, Sanctions, Export Controls, Anti-Competitive Behaviour
- Interview, investigation, and auditing skills
- Business Engagement skills
- Communication and influencing skills, continuously improving partnership with key business partners
- Skilled in use of analytical tools including database interrogating tools (i.e. SQL, MS Excel, others)
BENEFICIAL
Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
- BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or related field.
- Certified compliance professional is a plus.
- Project management or analysis certification would be well regarded.
- Knowledge of data privacy compliance or experience managing data subject requests and incidents is highly desirable
