British American Tobaccohas an exciting opportunity for a Senior Brand Manager (Velo) in London, UK.
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
Role purpose is to drive growth of Modern Oral (Velo) across Western Europe by defining key portfolio opportunities and by driving development of global innovation pipeline through the lead markets approach, primarily Sweden.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Define and lead Western Europe portfolio and innovation strategy
- Lead portfolio and innovation insights agenda transforming learnings into WEA into portfolio and innovation strategy articulation.
- Consolidate consumer insights and foresights in category and cross categories to define key innovation spaces relevant for growth of Velo in Western Europe.
- Identify new, relevant Modern Oral players already acting within relevant innovation spaces as opportunities for M&A and acceleration of Velo in Western Europe.
- Consolidate Velo and competitive performance learnings ensuring core portfolio competitiveness across all markets.
- Work actively with global and regional Oral teams to ensure the portfolio and innovation needs of WEA markets are clearly articulated, prioritised and acted upon for Sweden as lead market, Nordics R4R markets and new European markets.
- Drive delivery of portfolio and innovation projects through globally established innovation process submitting relevant documentation to global Velo portfolio and innovation leadership.
- Drive and ensure delivery of all key portfolio and innovation projects working closely with consumer insights for opportunity and mix validation and ensuring alignment with leadership and teams in lead markets.
- Drive articulatio of key consumer USPs and innovation claims influencing campaign messaging priorities.
- Drive Velo business plans across all WEA markets working closely with finance, RGM, trade and activation teams.
- Lead portfolio and innovation plans delivery for SMP, ALT, NLT, RMLT/RLT, A-SOP, ADRM and AREA MLT.
Drive portfolio and innovation strategy for Sweden
- Drive Velo innovation agenda for Sweden, global lead market, including:
- Articulate the plans and deliver projects to ensure current portfolio competitiveness through consumer research and market performance analysis and pipeline delivery through global and regional counterparts.
- Identify new growth spaces and opportunities for further reinforcement of core portfolio and drive pipeline delivery.
- Articulate opportunities for growth through relevant innovation spaces and drive global innovation pipeline readiness.
- Drive delivery of portfolio and innovations project for Sweden with Global innovation team and Nordics Growth team driving research agenda for validation of new initiatives and robust deployment principles.
Ensure Velo compliance and competitiveness in Nordics R4R markets
- Drive regulation clarity and alignment across global, regional and DRBU stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance of Velo portfolio across Denmark, Finland and Norway through articulation of plans and prioritisation of global pipeline delivery.
- Drive core portfolio competitiveness through consumer and market analysis and delivery of relevant projects.
- Work actively with Nordics Growth teams to identify opportunities for pipeline and innovation leadership within regulatory context of each market.
New Europe Markets
- Define right and most competitive portfolio for consumer acquisition and category growth in all new Europe markets working closely with consumer insights on consumer adoption journey and applying learnings in portfolio strategy and pipeline projects.
- Working with Growth teams, drive project to ensure competitiveness of Velo core portfolio across the markets through consumer and market analysis identifying any points of weakness and new growth opportunities.
- Define deployment principles for innovation cascade from Sweden to new European markets.

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Ability to influence multiple senior stockholders with clear strategic articulation
- Ability to manage multiple high priority projects
- Efficient Team management
Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
- Master of Business Administration, Bachelors Degree in a related field with extensive years of well-rounded marketing or business development experience.
- Brand Code training
- Consumer insights and/or commercial finance experience/training
