KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:
- Lead Compliance & Governance Committees, including planning, preparing, and managing Commercial Compliance, Illicit Trade, and Business Security forums.
- Ensure all illicit trade minimization activities comply with BAT's Standards of Business Conduct and Anti-Illicit Trade Intelligence Compliance Protocol (AITICP).
- Conduct and embed a risk assessment culture for business security and illicit trade activities.
- Oversee intelligence collection programs and investigations, ensuring proper documentation and information sharing.
- Develop and implement strategic security plans, ensuring effective resource deployment and risk mitigation.
- Manage external research, intelligence collection, and data analysis related to illicit trade trends.
- Supervise security operations, including personnel, asset protection, crisis management, and company fleet security.
- Collaborate with government agencies, law enforcement, and industry partners to strengthen security and compliance efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Strong background in commercial compliance, security risk management, and governance reporting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in intelligence gathering, risk assessments, and conducting investigations in law enforcement, government, or private sector security.
- Familiarity with compliance standards, illicit trade policies, and business security regulations in highly regulated industries.
- Ability to assess threats, implement mitigation strategies, and develop risk assessment frameworks.
- Experience in security operations, crisis response planning, and law enforcement collaboration.
- Skilled in managing external security service providers, law enforcement agencies, and industry partners.
- Ability to analyze security data, identify trends, and make strategic decisions to minimize risk.
- A degree in security, law enforcement, business, or related field, with professional certifications in compliance, security management, or investigations preferred.
- Candidate must be in full physical health and capable of moving around and performing actions as needed.
- Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays as required by the company for emergency situations.
- Must be willing to travel around Papua New Guinea as part of the role.
- A valid Class 6 driver's license is required.
