ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Global Quality Standards & Capability Development team is seeking a talented, resilient, and people-centric Capability Development Manager to build multi-category capabilities across Quality utilizing the IWS Quality pillar as a key enabler. This is a global role which will drive the deployment of training plans, programmes, and IWS Quality pillar phase evolution. In addition to being an SME on IWS Quality Pillar systems and tools, your role will contribute to shaping and embedding the desired quality culture within the function.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in Lean Manufacturing / TPM / Integrated Work Systems (IWS) with hands-on experience utilizing Quality Maintenance (QM) methodology to deliver business results. Successful candidates will have a high tolerance for ambiguity, a tremendous bias for action, a passion for training and capability building, and excellent communication ability. Successful candidates can demonstrate a proven track record of influencing vertically and horizontally and building successful relationships.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Drive capability builds across the Quality organization to enable a future fit talent pipeline.
- Drive global IWS Quality Pillar drumbeat to develop and deploy target capabilities required by local teams to eliminate quality-related losses.
- Lead the development of new DMSs, tools, and qualification criteria as required by the business.
- Develop and deploy skill matrix as per the Category Quality organization design.
- Conduct Skill Needs Assessments to identify skill-related losses within the global team and drive the utilization of Step-up cards to enable the qualification of team members at all levels.
- Collaborate with other functions/sub-functions to develop the training content reflecting future business priorities.
- Deploy and track the Global Quality Training Plan.
- Support and manage Global Ownership of the Qualification process in the Quality organization.
- Provide support to the Global Category Quality teams to identify must-win trainings across the entire Quality organization.
- Manage the quality training repository ensuring that training content and modules are relevant and updated when due.
- Own and deliver critical global quality programmes and workshops
- Support in actively shaping quality culture for the global and local teams in line with BAT’s core Values
- Drive the Quality communications strategy, ensuring the communications plan is adequately managed and all platforms are maximally utilized
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
Experience Required
- Experience in contributing to, Lean manufacturing, IWS, or other continuous improvement practices with the ability to effectively manage ambiguity and work independently.
- Experience in working across multiple functions and projects with knowledge of training methodologies.
- Experience working in an FMCG company in Operations/Quality.
- Understanding of consumer-centric quality management principles in a multi-category environment.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective engagement skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Experience leading QM/TPM/ or other continuous improvement practices
- Ability to work in a multi-geographical environment
- Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of Training and capability build tools

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
- Degree or equivalent in Applied Science, Industrial, Food Technology or Engineering management-related disciplines.
