Role summary
What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
The Sourcing Analyst leads the execution of the source change activities for Finished Goods. These activities are triggered either through SND recommendations or Contingency sourcing activation.
The role ensures management of the executional part of the proposed source changes for Finished Goods and acts as central point of coordination and communication between various functions such as Factories, Product Centres (RPC), SNO functions, etc, proving transparency of projects/ activities status against the agreed plans.
The Sourcing Analyst also supports on the capacity analysis to ensure accurate and timely inputs into SND assessments, S&I activities and contingency sourcing planning.
Accountabilities
- Handle execution of source change activities ensuring the defined NPI governance for Production Transfers projects is followed.
- Carry out the initial phases of evaluation for source changes and raise required NPI briefs
- Handle the multiple sources of data to maintain up-to-date list of SKUs being transferred with all relevant details of information providing the appropriate transparency of upcoming changes
- To ensure SND team has up to date data and analysis as per latest RCCP plans (sourced from respective SNP teams).
- Overlaying of upcoming projects to rough cut capacity plans to ensure full visibility for SND, planning and finance teams
- Handle SND data including RCCP consolidation, Power BI inputs and ensure that data is accurate and fit for purpose
- Run and handle semi-finished goods Central Supply Review process
- Run capacity / logistics analysis where required to understand key constrains in SKU source change transfers identified.
- Capacity surge analysis for assigned manufacturing capacities to ensure capacity surge levels are in line with the agreed targets
- Where required support SND Managers with respective product portfolio, manufacturing capability & capacity analysis
- Support Complexity reduction and capacity optimisation projects
- Act as the link between SND team and other SNO functions where data management / analysis is required
- Ensure all involved parties are well informed on the status of SKUs source change activities
- Initiate / Lead the Flex SKUs list with the subsequent handover to SNP for execution
- Adhere to defined source change governance and guidelines in the implementation and approval of source change activities.
- Apply rigid project management procedures and documentation.
- Build an effective network to ensure that projects are carried out efficiently and according to BAT Best Practice guidelines.
- The right level of communications and information is provided to all partners using identified tools and communication channels. These include status and achievement meetings, emails, teleconferences, etc
- Continuously develop and improve the process related to Product portfolio and Capacity analysis
Experience, skills, knowledge
ESSENTIAL
Experience Required
- Proven experience in Manufacturing or Supply Network Operations (Planning, Logistics, NPIs)
- Experience working within Monthly & Weekly control cycles
- Sophisticated analytical skills
- Experience of using IT supply chain planning, scheduling, and ERP systems; specific knowledge on SAP R3, APO and Power BI are a distinct advantage
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Understanding in Supply planning processes.
- Understanding of Production, NPI and Logistics processes.
- Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with and influence partners across multifunctional teams
- Strong demonstrable leadership capabilities, for example:

- Graduate in Engineering, Supply Chain or similar
