British American Tobacco Romaniahas an exciting opportunity for an Area Finance Analyst in Bucharest
Based in Bucharest and reporting to the Area Finance Manager Business Partner as part of the New Categories Corporate Finance Team, Area Finance Analyst is required to provide transactional support and reporting to assist with the reporting and control of the results of Nicoventures Trading Limited (NVT).
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide financial and accounting support to internal stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions and reporting activities.
- Support forecasting, planning, and month-end/quarter-end financial processes across multiple markets.
- Coordinate and manage intercompany transactions and related financial activities in compliance with company policies and governance requirements.
- Partner with markets and cross-functional teams to address operational, financial, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audit activities and assist with the resolution of financial queries and issues.
- Contribute to market launches, business model changes, and continuous improvement initiatives by providing financial expertise and operational support.
- Collaborate with finance, IT, and other business functions on system enhancements, testing activities, and process optimisation projects.
- Drive efficiency, standardisation, and continuous improvement across reporting, controls, and finance processes within NVT.
What are we looking for?
- Degree educated, preferably with or working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA or equivalent).
- 2–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, reporting, or a related field.
- Good understanding of finance and accounting principles, with the ability to translate data into meaningful business insights.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of data and drive operational improvements.
- Experience working with ERP and reporting systems such as SAP, BPC, BI, or similar tools.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and manage multiple partners across different markets and functions.
- Strong business partnering, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge when required.
- Advanced English and a collaborative, team-oriented approach, with a continuous improvement mindset.
