BAT VIETNAM IS LOOKING FOR A SUSTAINABILITY EXECUTIVE
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The primary purpose of the role is to support the DRBU and the Vietnam (VN) Market as follows:
- Assist in providing strategic direction, co-ordination and driving Sustainability programmes in VN.
- Guide implementation and monitor the effective deployment of Vietnam’s sustainability programmes including community investment projects.
- Develop and deploy sustainability related internal and external communications campaigns in VN.
- Facilitate best practice sharing across the APMEA South and within the BAT Group.
- Support the EM in developing advocacy and communications materials including Sustainability reports.
- Liaise with the central and DRBU sustainability team and act as a link connecting the EM with the Centres of Excellence.
- Support the sustainability teams and VN Market to ensure good governance and compliance.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Own the VN sustainability strategy and develop the annual plans and budget to deliver VN priorities.
- Work closely with the relevant functional managers to implement the strategies and support driving the annual plans.
- Monitor the delivery of sustainability KPIs and prepare quarterly internal progress reports to inform the Head of Sustainability and the Head of CORA.
- Own and drive VN’s community investment strategy and work with local stakeholders to deliver the annual plans including seeking for external recognition.
- Manage relationships with external collaborators including agencies, associations and service providers.
- Ensure community investment related governance due diligence processes are adhered when implementing programmes to minimize risks to the business.
- Support in conducting impact assessments on VN’s community project. Support in preparing impact reports.
- Prepare the annual sustainability report for the Annual Report, including the IFRS S1 and S2 related disclosures.
- Develop any other sustainability related advocacy material for VN including the quarterly newsletter.
- Provide guidance and advice to cross functional teams where needed to resolve in market sustainability issues.
- Develop sustainability communications content for VN and run sustainability related internal and external communication campaigns.
- Support the EM to run internal and external events as required.

- Actively lead Sustainability ensuring delivery with integrity.
- Assist building sustainability capability within the team.
- Ensure relevant collaborators at DRBU and end markets are appropriately engaged on Sustainability matters.
- Managing third parties as required including CSI partners and agencies.

Relationships
- Occasional engagement with the DRBU CORA LT and Vietnam VLT.
- Primary relationships with VN CORA team, VN business and APMEA South sustainability and business comms. teams.
- Secondary relationships with central sustainability team and regional comms. team.
- Management of any external agencies for the delivery of community investment, recognition, reporting and communications activities.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ work experience in FMCG/multi-national environment.
- Hands on experience driving the implementation of sustainability strategies and action plans.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and run impactful Community Investment projects and monitoring and measuring the delivery of programme objectives.
- Working knowledge on project management, planning and organisation skills including ability to meet deadlines.
- Expertise in running sustainability-related internal communications campaigns.
- Experience in working with and managing third parties and agencies.
- Exposure to sustainability reporting, climate reporting is a plus.
- An understanding of BAT’s sustainability strategy and strategic focus areas will be an added advantage.
