- Deliver HR generalist services across Commercial SA and Corporate Services SSA, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
- Act as a proactive partner for Commercial SA leadership and Corporate Services SSA leadership, ensuring high levels of service excellence and support.
- Advise managers on HR practices, policies, and procedures to strengthen business partnering.
- Consult and assist managers on IR matters to ensure fair labour practices and positive morale.
- Support career development, talent management, and succession planning processes across Commercial SA and Corporate Services SSA.
- Facilitate performance management processes across both areas.
- Drive diversity, transformation, and employment equity initiatives.
- Coordinate remuneration processes (grading, salary reviews, promotions) ensuring compliance with BAT policies.
- Assist in embedding HR common platforms and best practices.
- Participate in HR projects impacting Commercial SA and Corporate Services SSA.
- Manage disciplinary hearings and ensure procedural fairness.
- Conduct skills and capability gap analysis and support interventions.
- Lead change management activities to drive sustainable transformation.
- Generate innovative HR initiatives based on employee data analysis.
- Liaise with trade unions and employee representatives to foster effective relationships.
- Review HR policies and recommend improvements to support the “Best Employer” journey.
- Manage recruitment, placement, and organisational development needs.
- Ensure accurate SAP data uploads.
- Drive employee engagement through innovative EVP initiatives.
- Develop and implement Employee Wellbeing programmes.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
- HR degree or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, HR business partnering, and labour legislation across SA and SSA.
- Excellent communication, coaching, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Project management and change management skills.
- Business acumen and ability to partner credibly with senior stakeholders.
- Minimum 10 years in HR with exposure to resourcing, IR, organisational development, HR service delivery, remuneration, and benefits.
