British American Tobaccohas an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Process Engineerin Malang, Indonesia.
This role applies extensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices to provide guidance and support to our OEMs in China working on complex engineering or manufacturing initiatives. It requires applying expertise in the design, specification, and integration of processes, equipment, materials and infrastructure consistent with company’s strategic plans. It’s critical for the engineer to develop a thorough knowledge of new developments and technology in e-cig industry.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the efforts to get OEMs ready for scale-up production of the new product to be launched in the US
- Ensure that the OEMs have the correct equipment, processes and procedures to align with the agreed Quality control plan AND FDA regulations
- Liaise with Product Quality to ensure that external supplier Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) and PSW submissions are agreed to and accepted by Quality
- Ensure that the suppliers are capable of serial production through a defined process (Commissioning, Qualification, Verification)
- Develop and agree handover criteria for acceptance of new product manufacture into serial production, including product and process quality criteria.
- Support quality control manager to analyse product defeccts.
- Liason between OEMs in China and Operation Excellence team in US to resolve important technical issues
- Support Procurement in the audit of potential suppliers, focusing on both the technical and manufacturing capability to support the business requirements.
- Help identify and qualify new suppliers of key components WHEN approval is given
- Provide technical input to the Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, industrialization, or new product introduction within consumer electronics, automotive, telecommunications, fast-moving consumer goods, or related industries.
- Experience working with external manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers, or supplier networks in a global environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing process development, process validation, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with engineering tools and methodologies such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and process capability analysis.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio, Prince2.
- Understanding of regulatory and quality compliance requirements for consumer electronic products.
- Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, and multi-functional collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English; Mandarin language proficiency would be an added advantage.
