JOB TITLE: HP Product Developer I

ROLE SUMMARY
What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
Contribute to Product Development activities with an innovative approach within the fast paced environment of the New Categories Heated Product (HP) portfolio. Ensure the completion of assigned workstreams within global product deploy portfolio projects to deliver the 5-year innovation pipeline.
Through your technical and scientific expertise, you'll handle prototyping, lab work, data analysis, and sensory evaluations across the assigned portfolio of projects. You'll also offer mentorship to indirect developer roles within the team.

What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?
Champion practical and technical expertise in prototype making and testing, experimental methods & techniques, and product specification development. Support Senior Product Developers to deepen technical knowledge, ensuring product and quality performance expectations are met. This role ensures that products are delivered according to established guidelines for new product development, supported by robust technical data.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Own the completion of assigned workstreams within a portfolio of Heated Products (HP) consumable deployment projects.
- Apply technical and scientific expertise to deliver consumable prototyping, lab work, data analysis, and sensory evaluations.
- Ensure a detailed understanding of new HP consumable innovations and their interaction with the device to understand the HP system’s sensory performance.
- Provide Senior Product Developer roles with key technical input, recommendations, and support while managing project goals optimally.
- Maintain rigorous control on output quality to channel product developments through the pipeline to product launch, following internal R&D processes and methodologies.
- Strive to identify areas for continuous improvement in our ways of working by developing new procedures and lab practices.
- Independently develop work plans to meet project timescales set by Senior Product Developers.
- Support in mentoring and guiding indirect team members in the product development process and lab guidelines, contributing to overall team performance.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
Experience Required
- Proven project management experience, understanding of analytical and sensory data from product testing, and ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Experience within the industry related to product development and product testing.
- Technical curiosity with problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Knowledge of prototyping, sampling, and testing procedures and processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of project management and development timescales.
- Interpretation of scientific data to drive business decisions.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external collaborators.
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks based on business needs.
- Understanding of regulation/compliance and the importance of Environment Social Governance (ESG).
Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
- Degree or equivalent commercial experience in a science, FMCG or Food & Beverage Product Development related field
