British American Tobacco Poland has an exciting opportunity for a Media & External Affairs Manager in Warsaw
This role leads BAT Poland’s political and external engagement by aligning regulatory strategies, advancing THR‑focused narratives, and ensuring the company’s positions are effectively represented across political, media, and stakeholder platforms. Working closely with local leadership and international teams, you will translate political developments into business actions while managing key partnerships, projects, and stakeholder relationships with impact.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Alignment of regulatory strategies for engagement with political collaborators based on BAT’s viewpoints (e.g. Ministries, MPs, authorities)
- Steering of Public Affairs Consultants to align BAT’s positions with them, provide them with BAT narrative and handle or supervise the execution.
- Third Party engagement to land the THR (Tobacco Harm Reduction) narratives and understanding
- Lead BAT Poland External Comms, ensure all reactive requests are answered on time in full and ensure all BAT standards are met
- Close contact with relevant business functions to contextualize the potential impact of political decisions, scenario designs as well as guiding the implementation of political decisions
- Reporting to and exchange with international BAT functions (Global, Area, EU), timely and clear cascade of information, identification of blocking issues, and coordination of updates
- Representation of BAT Poland at events (e.g. on panels, giving presentations)
- Active exchange with the country manager and supporting in leading the local organization
- Internal & external stakeholder management
- Budget management
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 3 years of experience in political engagement
- Knowledge of Polish political landscape
- Experience with media engagement (classical and/ or social media)
- Curiosity about nicotine products and THR (Tobacco Harm Reduction)
- Strategic and commercial thinking
- Willingness to work in a highly regulated and complex environment with several contact persons on different levels, talent for handling interested parties
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate optimally with others
- Confirmed Leadership experience
- Validated project management proficiency along with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and urgencies
- Excellent command of Polish, outstanding writing and presentation skills
- English: professional proficiency
