Purpose
Join our HRBP Corporate team to craft impactful strategies for British American Tobacco's corporate functions. Partner with leaders to improve leadership, performance, talent development, and workforce readiness.

Principal Accountabilities
Operational/Professional/Business
- Act as a strategic HR partner to Corporate Function Heads, co-creating people solutions that support delivery of business goals while improving team efficiency and engagement.
- Offer strategic HR mentorship across core pillars including Organizational Design, Talent, Learning, Reward, Inclusion & Culture, and Employee Experience.
- Drive strategic workforce planning, capability building, and organizational agility within Corporate functions.
- Lead the implementation of values-based leadership and performance frameworks aligned with company culture.
Management
- Drive talent reviews and succession planning to build strong leadership pipelines in each corporate function.
- Monitor employee costs, optimize workforce structures, and ensure functional resourcing is future-fit and efficient.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of HR data and analytics to support decision-making and business planning.
- Supervise the Corporate HR team in delivering HR interventions and initiatives effectively across all corporate functions.
Leadership
- As part of the Corporate Functions Leadership Team and HRLT, co-develop strategic priorities, lead cultural change initiatives, and contribute to the broader people and organizational agenda.
- Provide mentorship and development support to senior leaders to strengthen inclusive and inspiring leadership behaviors.
- Drive the embedding of values and behaviors across corporate functions through communications, recognition platforms, and leadership rituals.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across Corporate teams, with focus on gender balance, allyship, and representation.
Relationship
- Establish positive relationships with Corporate Function leaders and employees to foster trust, drive accountability, and improve collaboration.
- Build effective working relationships with HR CoEs (e.g., Talent, Reward) and Shared Services to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- Support leaders in developing relationships with external collaborators (e.g., legal advisors, consultants) as needed for function-specific priorities.
Innovation
- Lead and support HR transformation initiatives such as org redesign, digital HR adoption, and process improvements.
- Continuously find opportunities for simplification and automation of HR processes and employee experiences.
- Drive employee listening strategies (e.g., Your Voice, skip levels, functional connects) and translate insights into actionable improvements.

Context / Environment
In this role, you will be part of a dynamic and intricate corporate environment where being flexible, working together, and managing change are key. You will interact with different customers to address their specific requirements, promote transparency in HR procedures, and actively contribute to shaping the culture across various teams. This role is essential in developing future-ready capabilities within corporate functions, ensuring that business goals align with employee needs.
In addition to HRBP responsibilities, you will also coordinate company-wide new joiner onboarding and related activities, in close coordination with the Recruitment team.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 6+ years of HR experience with at least 2+ years in a strategic HRBP capacity.
- Strong track record in leadership development, change management, and OD in a corporate or cross-functional environment.
- Demonstrates strong business insight and collaborator experience, especially with senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of performance management, reward systems, and talent strategy.
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and influencing skills.
- Experience with HR analytics, digital tools, and HR operating models (e.g., BP/COE/Shared Services).
- Exposure to working in a multinational FMCG or similarly fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Working Relationship
Internal
- Reports to HR Director and partners closely with CoEs and HR Shared Services.
- Member of the Corporate Functions Leadership Team and HRLT.
- Strong collaboration with Function Heads in HR, Finance, Legal & Corporate Affairs, and IDT.
- Close coordination with internal Legal team on people-related compliance and policy matters.
- Collaborate with Area HRBPs for Corporate functions to drive and align talent imperatives.
External
- Connect & Coordinate with Universities for Career Drives, Internships, Global Graduate program, Accreditation agencies, etc.
