British American Tobaccohas an exciting opportunity for a Team Lead – Planning & Reporting in Selangor
The Team Lead will support a number of key areas in the Corporate Finance team as it is a role within the consol team for APMEA South. This role includes assisting with monthly and ad-hoc forecasting requirements relating to DRBU. This role will also be key in ensuring the efficiency and timely reporting dashboards such as PowerBI reflecting an accurate month end close overview for management. This role will also assist with continuous improvement and simplification initiatives. The objective of this role is to assist the APMEA South markets to meet their objectives by providing quality general accounting analysis and overall business support for end markets.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Serve as an independent contributor for a component of the Record to Report function inclusive of, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Reconciliations, Month End Close, Statutory & Financial Reporting, Management reporting, product costing data integrity and quality.
- Perform specific tasks allocated by the line manager in the area of integrity, quality and reasonableness of the management and statutory reporting process, which includes QPR and QTR reporting exercises.
- Assists in preparation of various submissions of the management reporting unit as well as legal entity reporting requirements as per the deadlines and with the frequency set by the IBPM process. This includes preparation, review, and posting of Financial Adjustments, investigating any major variances, reviewing of the reasonableness of the balances, and ensuring IFRS and GMAP have been properly applied in the financial reports.
- Identify material movements based on pre-established template
- Perform analytical review to ensure the movements vs. previous periods or vs. the previous forecast make sense
- Support in implementing internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Participate in CI initiatives in order to improve efficiency & effectiveness
What are we looking for?
- At least 2-3 years of experience in an FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
- In-depth knowledge of relevant accounting terminology for own department and organization-wise
- A good understanding of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically BI/BPC, SAP or ERP equivalent
- Understand the platforms and analyse reports, identify issues and challenges within reports functionalities and data
- Able to play a part in projects and process improvements and handle a remote/virtual customer base model
- Meticulous, analytical, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision
- Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls
- Minimum qualification – a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / Biz Administration (or equivalent qualification from a recognised professional body) may be advantageous.
