British American Tobacco Papua New Guinea has an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist in Port Moresby

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Present a professional, enthusiastic, respectful, and positive image as the first point of contact for visitors and callers.
  • Greet guests and handle telephone enquiries courteously, efficiently, and professionally.
  • Manage incoming/outgoing mail, newspapers, courier deliveries, and ensure timely distribution.
  • Support Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes including invoice posting, vendor management, and purchase order follow-up.
  • Coordinate office transport needs (runs, airport transfers, after-hours requests) in consultation with Security and drivers.
  • Track daily staff movements to support emergency evacuation procedures and provide updated staff listings.
  • Maintain and replenish office stationery, kitchen supplies, and assist Facilities with stock orders and deliveries.
  • Provide administrative and cross-functional support (to the GM’s Executive Assistant, Finance, PAs, Facilities, EH&S, and Security) while building strong relationships across teams.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum Grade 12 with a Certificate/Diploma in Office/Business Administration or Customer Service, plus at least 3 years’ experience in a receptionist or customer service role.
  • Solid knowledge of office administration, front desk operations, customer service, company policies, and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledgeable in SAP is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills in English (basic Pidgin an advantage), with strong listening, written, and verbal abilities.
  • Strong customer service focus with resilience to handle high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to build rapport, work independently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
