Assistant Manager- Corporate Finance

BAT’s Digital Business Solutions KL Hub has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager – Corporate Finance in Malaysia.
The role plays a key part in the GBS Corporate Finance Team, driving Total Employment Cost (TEC) and Admin Overheads (AOH) metrics, and upholding Accounting Standards and Governance Controls. This role will also oversee Singapore Group Statutory & Management Reporting.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Drive the delivery of TEC and AOH KPIs in accordance with Accounting Standards and Governance Controls.
- Proactively identify and implement initiatives to improve TEC and AOH performance and achieve operational efficiencies.
- Delivery of accurate and timely Half Year and Year End financial reporting, including Singapore Group Statutory & Management Reporting and KLSE reporting requirement.
- Ensure month-end close activities, statutory and management financial reporting (actual financials) are performed on time and in compliance with SOX.
- Collaborate with Budget Holders to determine full year and half year budgets and supervise TEC and AOH expenses.
- Ensure adherence to IBPM process by completing monthly BPC planning for TEC and AOH OTIF.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with Budget Holders across the organization.
- Clearly communicate financial information and insights to partners.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in relation to TEC and AOH for local accounting standards.
- Provide mentorship and support to the Corporate Finance Manager on TEC and AOH matters.
- Lead the delivery of technical and operational activities related to SAP & BPC systems as well as ensuring data integrity and accuracy within these systems.
- Provide mentorship to subordinates and steer the team to continuously deliver value and results.
- Lead and participate in projects passionate about efficiency improvement, standardization, and cost optimization.
- Coordinate and ensure alignment and delivery of risk register and control navigator exercises for the Singapore market.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 5 years in a global FMCG or similar dynamic environment; degree with CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting processes, standards, and financial controls.
- Proficient in finance systems like BI, BPC, or SAP equivalents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across all levels.
- Identifies and implements process and reporting improvements.
- Capable of guiding subordinates with strong leadership traits.
- Strong ability to interpret financial data and implement solutions.
- Meticulous, proactive, able to work under pressure, with proficiency in English (local language is a plus).
