British American Tobacco Hungary has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel in Pécs
As a Legal Counsel, you will be in charge with preparing legal documents to support the Operational Business Unit of BAT Hungary, support business decisions and also enhance operations’ transformational opportunities, whilst ensuring compliance to Group policies and the applicable law.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Advises in the preparation, drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of intra-Group contracts and other legal documentation relating to sourcing and services to ensure legal and fiscal compliance & optimisation
- Engages in planning, strategic projects and daily operations by monitoring and counselling the procurement process in its entirety to ensure legal compliance of materials, mechanisms and processes;
- Drafts and counsels on service, supply and project related agreements and other applicable documents, delivers effective and easy-to-use contract templates for the OBU.
- Pro-actively guides HR department in seeking out new and effective communication methods within the applicable legal framework, including but not limited to employer branding and recruitment processes.
- Accountable for the company’s compliance (focusing on OBU) with all applicable policies and procedures such as SOBC, Corporate Governance, Records Management, Data Protection etc.
- Counsels the business functions and cross-functional teams in order to ensure awareness of and compliance to all relevant legislation (excise, competition law, tobacco regulations, tax, employment law, etc.)
- Provides wide range of legal expertise in signing off internal and external corporate communication messages.
- Provides or procures legal advisory support across all operations related business activities to managers and the Head of Legal
- Deep understanding of contractual legal environment (e.g. construction, design, supply, engagement and work contracts)
What are we looking for?
- Law degree
- Preferably 3 years legal experience after the completion of Hungarian BAR exam, with a good understanding of the legal environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and in Hungarian
- Ability to engage and communicate in clear and coherent manner
- Preferably experience in legal support of industrial development and operations
- Working experience in multinational environment or tobacco industry experience are considered as an asset
