British American Tobacco Indonesia has an exciting opportunity for a Blender I in Malang
Role Positioning and Objectives
The Blender I will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering key operational activities and development Blend specifications for the assigned cell/area of control. As such you will be highly integrated into multiple work streams led by senior members of the team, and responsible for delivering end-to-end work sub-packages. You will also take ownership of some of the day-to-day administrative tasks required of the combustibles blending function with clear governance and tracking. Depending on scope and scale, you may also be assigned full ownership of projects to manage delivery of in totality.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute blending operations activities, ensuring timely delivery of assigned workstreams, projects, and operational tasks.
- Create, maintain, and manage blend specifications, recipes, and material codes within approved systems and governance frameworks.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing combustible blends, ensuring compliance with quality, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate pilot plant, laboratory, sample room, and micro-blending activities, including work order management, sample handling, and evaluation sessions.
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets from multiple sources to generate reports, forecasts, trackers, and business insights related to blend performance, costs, quality, and market trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Manufacturing, Quality, Product Development, Supply Chain, Finance, and other global teams to ensure effective project execution.
- Monitor and proactively bring up risks related to leaf supply, material availability, quality performance, and blend deployment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, governance processes, technical evaluations, and blend ideation activities by providing data-driven recommendations and operational support.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in technical, scientific, engineering, agricultural, or related field; tobacco-related qualifications are an advantage.
- 1-2 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, product development, or a related technical environment.
- Strong analytical skills with experience handling large and complex datasets using tools such as Excel, Power BI, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results against timelines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and global teams.
- Attentive to details and methodical, with a strong focus on governance, accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Proactive, curious, and adaptable attitude, with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement and learning.
- Knowledge of tobacco manufacturing, leaf sourcing, quality management, product development, or specification management is preferred.
