ROLE PROFILE
Job Title: Indirect Sourcing Manager
Function: Operation
Report to: Area Procurement Manager
Location: Tokyo, Japan
ROLE SUMMARY
The Indirect Sourcing Manager role covers the area of all indirect sourcing activities in Japan by engaging with Japan relevant parties to ensure fulfilment of end market business requirements and delivery of Procurement strategy, collaboratively working with Global Procurement to deliver Japan business requirements as well as coaching and developing Japan procurement team. Also, they are responsible for the execution of end market operation of “Sourcing to Contract”.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Engagement
• Responsible for End Market stakeholder management to ensure full understanding of business requirements including their business goals, targets and directions and promote customer service excellence.
Sourcing Management
• Ensures the end market / above market sourcing practices deliver maximum benefit delivery against the category strategies and fulfil business requirements.
Supplier Management
• Ensures Supplier Segmentation and Management in the end market is done in line with the Procurement Strategy to drive value from supplier relationships.
Functional Management
• To effectively handle the end market level expenditure and headcount within the agreed budget.
• Responsible for developing and handling resource plans for the end market procurement teams and support alignments in the Area.
Change Management
• Lead change management on new ways of working/ Landing of category strategy / sourcing strategy at Area / end market level.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Professional knowledge of procurement principles and approach, gained through a minimum of 5 years operational experience.
• Strong business sense and commercial awareness
• A broad understanding of the role and impact of procurement within the BAT
• Sound knowledge of company policies platforms and standards and legislation to ensure the creation of effective and binding contracts.
• Strong change management capabilities to establish new ways of working.
• High fluency both in English and Japanese
• CIPS Corporate Diploma in Purchasing and/or membership of The Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply or equivalent country qualification or membership would be an advantage.
