British American Tobacco Malaysia has an exciting opportunity for QA & EHS Officer in Johor Bahru
Your key responsibilities will include:
Quality Assurance
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with product development teams (NPI) to define and document product quality requirements on Product Validations, Trials and Acceptance of new product.
- To manage reporting and CAPA on Customer & Consumer Complaints and use data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Lead investigations and root cause analysis to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance quality awareness and promote a culture of quality excellence.
- Responsible to collect data of quality parameters and to analyse performance of product, along with Monthly & Quarterly reporting to Global.
- Manage Pest & Hygiene controls for factory. Ensure no infestation and appropriate treatment and measures are in place.
Sustainability (EHS)
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies, goals, and initiatives in alignment with the company's overall objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the environmental impact of company operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability principles into product design and development processes.
- Conduct assessments and audits to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standard processes.
- Track and report on key sustainability performance indicators, such as energy consumption, waste generation, and carbon emissions.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize workplace hazards and improve safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor safety protocols, procedures, and policies.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs to educate employees on safety practices and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence while maintain & update safety data sheets (SDS) and other relevant EHS
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in quality assurance, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with EHS regulations, standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Excellent understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification techniques.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with auditing and compliance processes related to quality and EHS.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and practices, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and familiarity with relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM) is a plus.
