 As an Operations IT Portfolio Manager, you would be ensuring the development, on-going management and prioritization of Operations IT portfolio (projects/programmes with a significant IT component), to maximize business value and ensure alignment with corporate goals and objectives of BAT.

 

Responsibilities

•       Ensures that programme/project leads and/or service owners adhere to the agreed portfolio management approach (Waterfall or Agile) and timelines and provide the appropriate information to agreed targets and accuracy. Produces reports as appropriate for portfolio governance, including making recommendations for changes to the portfolio in a data driven manner.

•       Undertake the responsibility for understanding the business requirements at portfolio level, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution to ensure alignment with overall IT strategy. Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementation if required.

•       Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal service agreements.

•       Identifies specific and relevant Lean Agile measures and mechanisms by which benefits can be measured, monitors benefits against what was predicted in the business case. Supports senior management to ensure that all plans, work packages and deliverables are aligned to the expected benefits. Supports the maintenance of the business case for funding the Functional IT portfolio and confirms continuing business viability of the Functional IT agenda at regular intervals.

 

Criterias & Skills

•       Degree Educated, with 10+ years post graduate work experience with 3 years of Agile project management leading an Agile development team experience in a complex IT environment.

•       Strong understanding of Lean-Agile project management and solution development methodologies and frameworks e.g. Dev Ops and SAFe is expected.

•       Experience with Agile project & portfolio management tools (e.g Jira and Azure DevOps) and Agile metrices used in project and portfolio management.

•       Understanding of fast moving consumer goods supply chain and manufacturing business processes including the key touch points, business strategies and supporting technologies including current and emerging solutions and trends.

•       Facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills

•       Effective communication and relationship management - experience working with business stakeholders across various business functions
