BAT France is looking for a Category Manager
FUNCTION: Marketing

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
This role is part of Trade Marketing & Distribution.
The role is responsible for:
- Trade link to all Departments (Brand, Supply Chain, Activation, Strategic Planning & Insights) to support KA business
- Performance analysis within alternative distribution channels
- Building reporting and monitoring KPIs
What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?
Collaborating with KA team the Category Manager has to create recommendations to be presented both internally to stakeholders and externally with trade partners
Reports to: Key Account Manager
Reporting Level: Manages Self
Geographic Scope: Local
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Develops an expert understanding of the category status, trends and drivers and puts together objectives and strategies for BAT’s business.
- Creates and maintains ever fresh and crisp category fact books and channel/market presentations.
- Presents these in a regular fashion to senior leadership in a wide variety of forums.
- Provides key input into all major range reviews, making white coat, fact-based recommendations on customer and channel assortment, space allocation, layout and in-store communication to grow both ours and our customers’ business.
- Analyses internal & external data to optimize BAT’s product portfolio to maximize impact while minimizing friction.
- Works with Marketing Activation, Finance and Trade teams to develop category support and shopper promotional programs in line with BAT’s customer business objectives.
- Conducts post-promotion analysis to report marketing impact on total category and our own Brands / Products.
- Liaises with international and regional colleagues to share and capitalize on best practices.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Experience Required
- Solid track record of working in consumer / tech goods, French Retail knowledge (GMS, E-commerce)
- +5 years professional experiences in Trade Marketing, Insights and/or category management functions
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Sound understanding of the role of Insights, Analytics and Shopper Marketing in Category Management
- Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills, strong computer skills in spreadsheets, databases (excel, Power BI) and presentation software (PowerPoint)
- Good knowledge and experience of syndicated data (Nielsen, IGD, etc)
- Demonstrated competencies in collaboration, teamwork, critical thinking and achieving results in alignment with business goals
Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
- French and English proficiency
- BAC+4 or BAC+5 in Business, Marketing or similar discipline
