The main accountabilities for this role are related to payroll controls and related financial activities, preparation of internal reports to other areas of the company and external reports to the government bodies, creation / modification of guidelines and act as a single point of contact for BAT’s Global Shared Services (GBS) and local HR in Chile.


The occupant of the role will have a self-managed approach and solution-oriented mindset. The ability to anticipate risks through a proactive way of working will be critical to success. The successful applicant will detect opportunities to introduce improvements to the current operating model optimizing the use of resources and processes both locally within HR Chile and through the Global Business Services team located in Costa Rica.


Key Stakeholder Interactions:


• Global Business Service (GBS) Employee Administration.
• Local and International HR teams.
• Finance Planning and Tax department.
• External providers, Government and Auditors Accountabilities.
• Contributes to the preparation and deliverance of accurate, timely and up to date payroll payments.
• Improves key payroll controls to protect BAT Chile assets using data accuracy, resources and work processes.
• Ensure that GBS is trained in the particularities of Chile’s payroll as well as HR processes within the employee administration area; supporting the business to focus on value-added activities.
• Supervise the monthly payrolls processes and ensure that all deadlines are met.
• Year-end planning and execution (high focus on taxation of benefits).
• Drive internal process simplification which will require deep understanding of the HR cycle.

 

Competency Requirements:

 

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Payroll at a national Chile level. Finance background is a plus.
• Graduate in Comercial Civil Engeenering or Industrial Engeenering.

• Analytical and good relationship skills.

• Fluent English. 
• Excellent knowledge of all critical business processes and systems of a payroll department.
• Experience in a multinational company desirable.
• Can effectively work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of the SAP payroll module. Desirable
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
