The Innovation Development Centre
(IDC) comprises approximately 35 staff and provides key support to R&D through the manufacture of samples/prototypes, physical and analytical testing, planning and scheduling of these services and the control of tobacco on-site (in compliance with HMRC License conditions).
Job purpose
To ensure all export documentation is accurately completed and all relevant processes are followed in supporting relevant Regulatory License Applications and Clinical Studies/Assessments and in ensuring continued compliance with our site HMR&C license.
Principal accountabilities
  • Provision of critical support to project teams, ensuring samples and prototypes are exported to agreed timelines.
  • Perform and complete the work activities to the defined plan and expected quality.
  • Support the development of new working procedures, methods or working practices.
  • Support/contribute to the generation of external reports and audit records/findings, publications and presentations.
  • Ability to develop appropriate solutions/approaches in identifying and resolving problems.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Professional/academic achievement in a relevant subject area up to 1st degree level or equivalent.
  • Relevant technical experience resulting in a thorough knowledge of HMR&C (Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs) regulatory requirements, import/export and internal procedures.
  • Recognized proficiency in some regulations and procedures concerning the movement of tobacco and related materials.
  • Good IT literacy.
  • Good communication and planning skills.
  • Ability to work in team environment and under time constraints. 


  • Base salary from £26,400, depending of relevant experience
