FUNCTION: Corporate & Regulatory Affairs

REPORTS TO: Head of External Engagement

SALARY RANGE: Competitive Salary + excellent benefits + market leading bonus

ROLE PROFILE AND OBJECTIVES

This role entails shaping and driving the fiscal agenda of the company and delivering both long and short-term goals pertaining to Price & Tax Policy while upholding company contribution to economy. This role deals with the holistic fiscal engagement of the company regarding its Price and Tax agenda spanning from NBR to relevant departments. As part of socio-economic progression, Bangladesh is going through various transformations in various fiscal policy matters. Being one of the largest contributors to the National Exchequer, BAT Bangladesh is under constant pressure to deliver the government’s revenue ambitions. This combined with extensive support and funding from tobacco control communities, makes managing and shaping the external fiscal environment a key strategic imperative for the company to deliver the business objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Business Objectives

• Shape and drive long term P&E agenda in line with company SLA
• Lead the P&E engagement team to work with key stakeholders i.e. policy makers and think tanks to ensure BAT’s P&E agenda is understood and accepted while preparing revenue decisions by the government.
• Ensure BAT’s P&E agenda is aligned with Government’s long-term ambition by developing and furnishing relevant insights. Able to interpret macro-economic outlook and government’s long-term plans which will impact BAT’s P&E ambition.
• Provide the business with timely fiscal insights/updates adhering to engagement guidelines and Company SOBC to support decision-making
• Identify and manage relationships with key stakeholders to execute engagements
• Manage execution of the internal & external Fiscal Engagement strategy and action plans

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Atleast 7 years experience in FMCG business
• Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing or similar background.
• Ability to engage with Senior Policy Makers, Think-Tanks as well as Law Enforcement Agencies.
• Ability to understand end to end business and derive fiscal agenda to deliver company ambitions.
• Ability to work in complex matrix cross functional environment.
• Forward looking and ability to keep pace with high performing teams.
• Influencing and motivating skills for internal and external relationship management.
