Reports to: Head of Business Development

Geographic Scope: Local

In this role you will be Co-Lead the development of category strategies within the scope of Trade. Link product assortment principles with role and capability of channel/account. Responsible in driving investment strategy, budget management and cross-functional team engagement. Translating Investment/channel strategy into principles, KPI/ROI, prioritization, Become the GO TO TRADE Person for the entrusted category, Initiate Internal Trade Performance Review (Quarterly basis).

Initiate growth plan for the category through demonstrating trade insights. Drive analytics & foresight of the category, contributes highly in defining opportunity to ACTIONABLE strategic/tactical growth ideas, Insights Discovery to translate & narrate opportunity to plan, Ability to build Sales Plan/Forecast (e.g., impact of new SKU, new outlet expansion)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Develop and implement category strategies and plans to achieve business targets.
  • Manage product assortment, including assortment planning, selection, and optimization of planogramming and in-store space.
  • Work closely with commercial finance team on pricing strategies and manage price positioning to optimize sales and profitability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure alignment with sales forecasts, working closely with the supply chain team to minimize stock-outs and overstocks.
  • Collaborate with the brand marketing team to develop and implement promotional plans to drive category sales and increase brand visibility.
  • Analyze sales data and key performance indicators to find opportunities for improvement and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Conduct regular business performance reviews of products and customers to ensure they meet quality standards and consumer expectations.
  • Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams, including key account managers, marketing deployment team and sales representatives to ensure the successful execution of category strategies.
  • Assume responsibility of budget management, development and revenue for category.
  • Analyze consumer / industry trends, competitor products, innovation, emerging technologies, regulatory changes and pricing to see opportunities and make informed decisions.

KEY TARGET OF THIS ROLE:

  • Establish optimized & purposeful assortment strategy through planograms and POSMs and improving touchpoints
  • Geo deployment & channel strategy supporting business expansion
  • Pricing & Promotion strategy enabled by clarity of performance review to drive insights and foresights

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited higher learning institution or equivalent combination of experience and education (preferred area of study: Marketing, Business, Communications, Economics, or other similar fields.)
  • Ideally, not less than five years' experience in a sizeable FMCG company (preferable an MNC) with at least 3 year experience as Manage Others.
  • Experience in category management within the Indonesia retail market.
  • Familiarity with retail merchandising systems and software.
  • Ability to drive and involved in pricing strategies, margin analysis and profitability optimisation.
  • A cross-functional experience of Marketing (Planning, Brand or Trade) is an preferred
  • Experience in vendor management and negotiations.

  • Analytical mentality with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Meticulous with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
