The role is responsible for working with a group of diverse and highly skilled team in Monterrey as part of a DBS Hub in Mexico working closely with the Insights and Foresights Business intelligence team in Canada, this role will combine technical expertise with business understanding to provide data driven solutions supporting the Canadian business unit to take better decisions providing objective, timely and relevant solutions/analysis.

This role entails in supporting the BI team’s data democratization agenda through the development of curated and personalized dashboards specific to the requirement of each function under the Advance ecosystem with the goal of enabling actions through insights. In addition to this, the candidate will work with internal partners leverage usage tracking to engage with stakeholders and find opportunities to increase engagement, plan & prioritize improvements of our different products and champion the education agenda by cascading the standard methodologies to demonstrate the platform through our communication plan.  If you are ready to lead a data-driven organization through the transformation, this role is for you. Additionally, they will serve as the liaison to BAT’s Global Data and Analytics team to share and learn best practices. Finally, they will craft presentations summarizing progress, provide regular product and business updates. In essence, the BI Executive will play a pivotal role in executing BAT’s Data and Analytics vision.

Your key responsibilities will include:

•  Govern the reporting processes and ensure integrity (i.e. continue delivering the Global and local reporting)
• Develop BI Dashboards based on requirements from the DBS G35 BI Visualization Mgr.
• Develop comprehensive understanding of what metrics to use for the required business & functional objective.
• Work cross-functionally to drive usage of the BI assets (Dashboards, Self-serve sematic layer) through development and management of Communication plan, webinars, "How to guides", newsletters etc.
• Lead potentially management and UAT of BI asset migration from MicroStrategy to Power BI & participate in the fit gap analysis to ensure migration efforts yields in benefit without sacrificing existing functionality (Global developed and locally steered migration effort)
• Leads the onboarding of new data integration with Data engineer (For ETL work) and IDT for use with BI Assets by working with internal teams (Semantic layer)
• Support with new data testing, validation & proof of concept builds.
• Plan and prioritizes enhancements to constantly improve engagement and usability of our products

What are we looking for?

• 2-5 years in a similar role in a corporate environment, with a proven track record of business delivery.
• Experience in ETL is needed.
• A degree in a field such as Marketing, Computer science, or Analytics.
• Advanced experience of analyzing sales performance data across multiple sources, and multiple relevant metrics
• Experience working with data scientists in developing products.
• Ability to fluently converse in English and able to present effectively complex concepts and processes.
• Demonstrates strong analytic skills including the ability to synthesize information, discover trends, reduce complexity, and identify key opportunities.
• Strong understanding of MicroStrategy and Power BI is essential.
