British American Tobacco Poland has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager- Data Modelling and Engineering in Warsaw

The Senior Manager - Data Modelling and Engineering is expected to lead the design and implementation of robust data models and ensure they align with business objectives. The role focuses on maintaining data quality, scalability, and governance while driving cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-performance data solutions. This position also involves mentoring a team of senior data modelers, fostering innovation, and ensuring alignment with industry standard methodologies.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  •  Lead and mentor a team of senior data modelers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Design and oversee conceptual, logical, and physical data models following Kimball’s methodology.
  • Develop and optimize tabular models using Power BI or Analysis Services Tabular Models.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data by implementing data quality frameworks.
  • Analyse business requirements and reverse-engineer data sources to develop integrated solutions.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure seamless data pipeline integration.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on data governance and management.
  • Promote cross-functional communication to align technical deliverables with business needs.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in data modelling or data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in dimensional modelling, particularly using Kimball’s methodology.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and managing tabular models with Power BI or Analysis Services Tabular Models.
  • Certifications in Power BI or related tools (e.g., DA-100 or PL-300).
  • Advanced knowledge of Kimball’s dimensional modelling methodology.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Analysis Services Tabular Models, and other tabular modelling tools.
  • Strong coding skills in PySpark and SQL for data processing and integration.
  • Ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams.
  • Experience working in multinational or complex organizational environments, combined with effective communication and partner management skills to ensure alignment between technical and business objectives.
