WE ARE LOOKING FOR A Senior Director Data Management

FUNCTION: Marketing – Growth Management

LOCATION: Winston-Salem, NC

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The Senior Director is responsible for the Growth Management Data and Capabilities roadmap and leading the team that develops, implements, and maintains the systems and analytical tools that provide data and strategic insights used by Marketing to drive revenue, profits, and share growth.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Supporting the company’s plans to drive profitable revenue growth
  • Leads and supports a robust Growth Management data management, capability building, and advanced analytical systems agenda, enabling the delivery of the organization’s goals in a changing and dynamic competitive landscape
  • Leads a cross-functional team of internal and external resources in the building, deploying, and managing of Growth Management systems, capabilities, and advanced analytical approaches
  • Collaborate with other associates from Growth Management, Planning and Performance, Commercial Finance, Trade, Data Science, IT, and Consumer Marketing to ensure aligned project plans for capabilities and tools
  • Leads the multi-year project management support of the building, deploying, and management of the Growth Management systems, capabilities, and advanced analytical techniques
  • Supports the running, maintenance, and enhancement of the company’s current marketing and sales data
  • Leverage vast datasets of shipments, pricing, retail offtake, and transaction-level data to develop critical business intelligence and insights, with a specific focus on the continued development of tools related to segment and category performance
  • Active participate on the Growth Management Leadership team
  • Supports Growth Management’s alignment with BAT’s Global Revenue Sustainability program

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Curious, self-starter that drives results in a dynamic environment and acts with appropriate urgency
  • Team leadership and people development skills and experience
  • Cross-functional collaboration abilities with internal and external stakeholders
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • 10+ years of experience leading and supporting marketing and sales systems related to planning, modeling, analyzing, and interpreting sales data sets, especially retail store data
  • Experience with managing and establishing Data Governance practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills supporting translating insights into actionable recommendations
  • Proven track record of multi-year project management experience
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • BA/BS degree required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Company vehicle for eligible employees
  • Cell phone allowance for eligible employees
  • 401(k) plan that offers opportunity to save on pre- and post-tax basis up to 50 percent of eligible compensation.
