British American Tobacco Bangladesh has an exciting opportunity for a Leaf Officer
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Execute leaf growing and buying activities to deliver volume, quality, and sustainability objectives.
- Build strong partnerships with farmers through training, technical support, and extension services.
- Lead and develop Field Technicians to ensure effective field execution and adoption of best practices.
- Drive implementation of agronomy, crop management, soil fertility, curing, and grading initiatives.
- Manage agricultural input distribution and farmer support programs.
- Execute leaf buying operations while ensuring quality, pricing, grading, and compliance standards.
- Support ESG initiatives, including afforestation and responsible agricultural practices.
- Promote a strong Environment, Health & Safety culture across field operations.
- Build effective relationships with farmers, government agencies, and local communities.
What are we looking for?
- A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agronomy, Botany, Forestry, Soil Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of crop management, agronomy, and sustainable farming practices.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop field-based teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- A proactive, results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to live and work in rural locations as required.
