British American Tobacco UK has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Finance Manager in London
The Western Europe DRBU is a key driver of transformation, often pioneering initiatives that shape broader End Market and Group strategies. This role leads commercial finance planning, governance and investment decision-making across the Area, providing insight and challenge to optimise pricing, resource allocation and capital investment decisions.
The role plays a critical part in aligning strategic priorities with financial outcomes through effective SOP cycles, robust business case evaluation and performance management. This role will influence business direction, shape ways of working across the DRBU, and lead a high-performing team, building capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- SOP Governance: support SOP cycles from commercial perspective, ensuring timely highlight of key KPIs across Marketing investment, capex and guardrails.
- Pricing Strategy: Driving Pricing and Excise strategies for the DRBU, ensuring alignment of EM strategies with DRBU vision. Oversee pricing governance and reporting, ensuring compliance with global guidelines.
- Resource Allocation: Develop and implement resource allocation principles across categories, optimising investments to deliver business stretch targets. Work in alignment with Growth capabilities team to embed new concepts/capabilities into BAU Resource allocation.
- CAPEX Management: Lead CAPEX planning and prioritisation, including review of business cases for regional approval.
- COGS and NCL management: Lead planning and reporting of COGS. Drive agenda with SC team. Ensure E2E reporting and engagement with region.
- Business Case Governance: coordinate timely preparation and submission of business cases for new projects, launches, and investment decisions, aligned with updated governance requirements across the area. Pressure test principles and challenge where necessary.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with regional and global teams to secure approvals, resolve governance queries, and communicate financial implications effectively. Work closely with End Markets and Area stakeholders to support them in implementing area strategies.
- People Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing, diverse team, fostering collaboration, capability growth, and talent development.
- Comply and implement activities in accordance with the rules of laws and regulations relating to environmental protection, safety at work and fire protection, and internal EHS or Sustainability standards and procedures.
What are we looking for?
- Strong expertise in financial planning, pricing, investment governance, and CAPEX planning.
- Advanced financial analysis, modelling, reporting, and strategy articulation skills.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver complex commercial strategies within regional/global governance frameworks.
- Strong experience in resource allocation, business case development, and SOP processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools, and complex operational processes.
- Strong team leadership and development skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Degree-qualified with CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA/MBA or equivalent relevant experience. ‘
