British American Tobacco has an exciting opportunity for a Area Sales Manager in Heredia, Costa Rica
Develop and execute a Trade Marketing and Distribution plan within their area that aligns with brand, volume, and profitability objectives for each commercial channel and key account, using budgets and resources in the most effective and efficient way to achieve Trade Marketing and Distribution goals through their Trade and Distribution Representatives.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage and maximize the availability and freshness of BAT’s brand portfolio, ensuring proper implementation of brand strategy and fulfillment of basic services for all clients, while minimizing supply chain costs.
- Oversee the fieldwork of their Representatives during market visits to develop their knowledge and skills through coaching, thereby contributing to greater efficiency, effectiveness, and a positive impact on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Maximize the sell-out of our brands through various point-of-sale activities that positively influence consumer purchasing habits and position BAT as the benchmark supplier (preferred provider) for all clients in their territory.
- Review and control accounts and assets in their area to ensure that assigned resources are appropriate, properly safeguarded, and used efficiently and effectively.
- Plan and define the factors affecting distribution in their territory to ensure continuous brand availability, product quality, and effective distribution at the lowest cost.
- Update the Business Master File for their area to ensure it contains accurate information about the clients that must be served in their territory.
- Set sales targets for their Representatives based on the potential of each route, with the aim of focusing efforts and actions in the market.
- Conduct market visits alongside their Representatives to develop their knowledge and skills through coaching.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field such as business administration, marketing or similar fields.
- At least 5 years of total working experience (internships, entry-level roles, etc), and at least 2 of these should have been in managerial roles.
- Strong understanding of the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) market.
- Familiarity with distribution channels within the FMCG sector.
- Solid grasp of budget management and financial planning.
- People management skills
- Sales and negotiation expertise
- Proficient in computer systems and various software tools.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
