REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Manager, Employee Relations & Compliance in Winston-Salem, NC.
The Lead Manager, Employee Relations & Compliance plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory and federal contractor compliance while supporting immigration matters and employee relations processes. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel to manage reporting obligations, mitigate compliance risks, and adapt to constantly evolving employment laws and regulations. The position requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- ‘Leading federal and state compliance reporting activities, including EEO‑1, VETS‑4212, and other regulatory submissions, ensuring accuracy and on‑time filing.
- Supporting federal contractor compliance efforts, including pay equity analyses, affirmative action plans, and compliance calendar management, in partnership with external legal counsel.
- Managing and administering critical Employee Relations and HR compliance processes such as I‑9 audits, unemployment claims, mandatory training tracking, and case‑management data accuracy.
- Providing strategic support on corporate immigration matters, serving as a key point of coordination with external immigration counsel and ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
- Maintaining accurate employee documentation and data in compliance systems, proactively identifying risks and recommending process improvements.
- Partnering closely with internal HR leadership, legal teams, and external counsel to respond to rapidly changing regulatory requirements.
- Managing multiple priorities simultaneously while adapting quickly to unplanned issues and shifting deadlines.
What are we looking for?
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, ideally in Legal Studies, Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal training, with hands‑on experience handling legal documentation and working with attorneys.
- 3–5+ years of experience in legal compliance, preferably within a law firm, corporate legal department, or government legal entity.
- Strong ability to manage strict deadlines and changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Highly self‑motivated, proactive, and confident decision‑maker who does not require close supervision.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to evolving laws, regulations, and business needs.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy when working with sensitive information.
- Strong project management and multitasking capabilities across multiple compliance initiatives.
