REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Manager Operations - Modern & Oral in Tobaccoville, NC
This position is responsible for developing organizational capabilities and execution strategies to support manufacturing and operations over a multi-year horizon ensuring effectiveness and enhancing productivity. The role is accountable for safety, quality and cost associated with finished products and leads a professional staff of managers and engineers along with production associates and oversight of contingent workers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Conducts employee evaluations, performance reviews, training, disciplinary actions, and equitably administers company policies. Works to develop the talent of employees and to ensure their training and skills are current and in compliance.
• Interfaces with Manager of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to evaluate, manage and execute Operations Wastestreams.
• Manages administrative staff for Operations.
• Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with the area's support departments (Quality, HR, Finance, Primary, Safety , Inventory and Planning).
• Monitors departmental quality, efficiency, waste, labor utilization, equipment utilization, and maintains a safe work environment.
• Develops and implements plans for growth and improvement.
• Assists in the development of the production schedule, properly staffs machinery, and drives the execution of changeovers and other critical departmental functions to support the objectives of the production plan.
• Establish and communicate production priorities. Execute production plans and internal goals. Track performance and adjust priorities accordingly.
• Assists in the performance of monthly work-in-process inventory and maintains daily production and attendance records. Maintains vacation schedule that fits department’s production needs.
• Leads change and fosters an environment of continual improvement through the development and implementation of effective ISO and GMP standards and work instructions. Ensures departmental compliance with those standards.
• Investigates non-conformances. Initiates corrective actions when product/processes are out of compliance.
• Be aware of the Company environmental, health & safety policies and comply with the objectives as it relates to the role
• Follow Company Safety Rules
• Know the potential health & safety risks and environmental impacts of work activities and understand role in mitigating these impacts
• Understand responsibilities for compliance with regulatory requirements and Company standards
• Complete EHS-required training and follow operational procedures
• Immediately report all injuries and illnesses
• Participate in EHS programs as required by assigned site/role (e.g., Near Miss Reporting, Safety Triggers)

What are we looking for?
• High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years relevant progressive work experience; Or Associate Degree in Logistics, Business or related field and 5+ years relevant progressive work experience; Or Bachelor of Science in Logistics, Business or related field and 3+ years relevant progressive work experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills (Including Microsoft Office Suite)
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a team
• Familiar with HACCP, GMP, FDA and ISO regulations
• Prior experience in tobacco, beverage or food industry preferred
• Familiar with production order transaction maintenance (SAP).
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
