- Providing legal advice to management and different departments on commercial, regulatory, labor, and corporate matters.
- Ensuring compliance with Algerian laws related to:
- Tobacco regulations
- Advertising restrictions
- Taxation and customs
- Import/export requirements
- Employment law
- Anti-corruption and compliance policies
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with suppliers, distributors, service providers, and partners.
- Managing litigation files and coordinating with external law firms.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory changes affecting the tobacco industry.
- Advising on marketing and brand campaigns to ensure they comply with local legislation.
- Supporting corporate governance and company secretarial matters.
- Conducting compliance trainings internally (ethics, anti-bribery, code of conduct, etc.).
- Managing relationships with government authorities and regulators.
- Identifying and mitigating legal and business risks.
- Supporting investigations, audits, and internal reporting requirements.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
Experience Required
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional legal experience in:
- Corporate law
- Commercial law
- Regulatory and compliance matters
- Contract drafting and negotiation
- Litigation management
- Labor and employment law
- Experience within a multinational company is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in highly regulated industries is considered a strong advantage, such as:
- Tobacco
- FMCG
- Pharmaceutical
- Healthcare
- Energy
- Telecommunications
- Experience dealing with:
- Government authorities
- Regulatory bodies
- External law firms
- Cross-functional stakeholders
- Proven experience supporting business operations while managing legal
Technical / Functional Skills Required
Strong knowledge of Algerian legal and regulatory framework.
Expertise in:
- Commercial contracts
- Corporate governance
- Compliance and ethics
- Competition law
- Labor law
- Dispute resolution
- Regulatory affairs
- Ability to interpret and apply complex legal regulations.
- Contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills.
- Legal risk assessment and mitigation.
- Litigation coordination and case management.
- Policy drafting and legal documentation management.
- Knowledge of anti-bribery and anti-corruption regulations.
- Understanding of import/export and customs regulations is an advantage.
- Strong legal research and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Fluency in:
- English
- French
- Arabic is an advantage.

Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in law (mandatory).
Master’s Degree in:
- Business Law
- Corporate Law
- International Law
- Commercial Law is highly preferred.
Qualification as a licensed lawyer/admitted to the Bar is an advantage.
