British American TobaccoRomaniahas an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Analyst in Bucharest.
The Global Corporate Planning & Analysis (CP&A) team is responsible for delivering management reporting, financial analysis, and business insights to Group Senior Management. In this role, the successful candidate will support the planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities for Central Functions, ensuring effective cost control and high-quality financial reporting. The position requires close collaboration with Central Finance, Corporate Finance, and GBS Shared Service Centre teams to ensure compliance with SOX controls, statutory reporting requirements, and Group Accounting Policies, while supporting accurate financial and management accounting and contributing to continuous process improvements across the function.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare, analyze, and deliver budgets, forecasts, actual results, and financial insights to support effective decision-making and cost control for Central Functions.
- Manage cost center activities, including intercompany/inter-budgetary recharges, purchase orders, and cost center structure maintenance.
- Perform month-end financial reviews, investigate accounting postings, and process adjustments related to payroll, accruals, reallocations, and other finance transactions.
- Coordinate reporting and reconciliation activities, including analysis of open items, overdue balances, and GR/IR reports, while partnering with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
- Drive process improvements and provide operational finance support through SAP maintenance, incident management, compliance activities, and ad-hoc requests from Finance Business Partners.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Finance Analyst, Finance Assistant, or similar finance-related roles, with exposure to financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, challenge assumptions, and translate data into business insights.
- Experience in process improvement initiatives and the ability to work efficiently with large volumes of financial information while maintaining high accuracy.
- Proficiency in finance systems and reporting tools, including SAP, BPC, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, combined with strong communication skills, stakeholder management capabilities, and fluency in English.
