JOB TITLE: Manager – Tax, Treasury & Internal Control Exe
FUNCTION: Finance
DURATION: 12 months with 3rd party, maternity leave cover.
What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
Manage the taxation affairs of the BAT Vietnam to ensure exposure and risk is minimised and ensure business practices and initiatives are in line with Vietnam tax authorities.
Responsibility for the company’s monetary resource, liquidity management and foreign exchange exposures.
In addition, manage the corporate insurance/ compliance requirements.

Core Relationships | Internal - To ensure all members of the Finance department are kept fully informed and that tax & treasury principles are correctly and consistently applied
- Personnel from all parts of the Vietnam group – providing tax advice and to ensure proper compliances with tax laws
- Regional Tax and Treasury teams – continuous engagement and representation of the company’s views and interests
- Personnel of all part of Joint Venture – providing compliance advice to ensure all controls are compliant
External - External tax authority – engagement leader for BAT on all matters of Tax
- Core banks, local banks, suppliers, insurers, and customers

- Provide advice to Operations sector of the Company business in matters of tax planning & management and compliance with the Vietnam tax laws/ BAT internal control
- Ensure all information & documentation are obtained & documented for inter/intra-company transactions to secure tax deductibility
- Coordinator of Tax & Treasury Committee meetings
- Deploy Treasury strategy and ensures consistency with the Group Guidelines
- FX risk management based on expertise of underlying exposure, FX hedging products & pricing
- Analyses long term and short term cash flow forecasts and FX requirements and make recommendations and opportunities to improve cash flow / liquidity management options for all legal entities
- Drives cash flow forecast accuracy via working closely with all the relevant functions
- Negotiates credit/guarantee lines and pricings (i.e. deposit rates, interest cost, etc.)
- Implements appropriate insurance requirements to cover business risks
- Review existing financial process and controls and operation effectiveness tests based on ICFR process and coordinates external audit with ICFR users
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
Experience Required
- Accounting and/or legal qualifications, e.g., CPA with working experience in either a professional firm or NTS would be preferred
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Effective oral and written communication skills to enable interaction with both internal and external advisers and/or tax authorities
- A highly developed knowledge of a wide range of taxation & treasury matters
- Capability to identify changes in taxation/economic trends and manage its impact on business
- Good ability to interpret tax-legislation and apply them to the needs of the Company.
- Capability in initiating & supervising tax planning measure which are designed to minimize the Company’s tax exposure and risks within the framework of the laws
- A sound knowledge of finance and commercial/legal matters, particularly as they relate to the Company’s business
- Problem solving ability and creativity
- Good relationship & understanding with government authorities in representing the Company’s position
- Good negotiation skills
Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
- A degree educated with professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CA)
