Ceylon Tobacco Company has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Finance Manager - Operations in Colombo
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Actively participate in the operation forums & ensuring accountability and alignment of financial metrics.
- Prepare Operations Reports and Financial Analyses; identify exceptional operational issues for discussion and resolution.
- Collaborate with Head of Departments to capture financial insights and enhance reporting.
- Leading the operations team on proper control mechanisms & ensure 100% control compliance & governance standards.
- Support Commercial Finance Manager in the preparation of budgets, plans, and forecasts, providing accurate and timely information for ongoing performance monitoring.
- Enable the delivery of strategic initiatives and encourage proactive business support.
- Engage in business partnering with the Operations Team, covering financial controls, cost controls, savings initiatives.
- Ensure effective resource allocation, risk management, and financial discipline.
- Foster alignment within the finance team and build relationships for overall effectiveness.
- Collaborate with area/regional finance teams to ensure effective achievement of financial KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement though automations and enable simplification of complex processes.
- Ensure the Operations finance team to be a high performing team, delivering & shaping the business priorities for sustainable value delivery.
- Within operations finance team and across organisation play an effective role to simplify, shape, empower, drive clarity and set the right context/principal.
- Focused interventions for all team members to ensure right capability & leadership skills in pursuit of the corporate talent agenda.
- Strengthen the operations finance talent pipeline while focusing on credible succession for operation finance roles.
- Ensure plan is in place for readiness and transition of successors in operation finance team.
- Coach and mentor new team members in finance.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Professional accountancy qualification i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an operations or manufacturing finance-related role.
- Understand the impact of the accounting processes and practices and any changes in accounting standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and coordinate effectively within the DRBU, with stakeholders at varying levels in the organizational hierarchy.
- Able to identify process and reporting improvements and proactively implement solutions.
- Meticulous, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision to contribute to change in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret financial data.
- Strong sense of responsibility and urgency with willingness to grow within the organization
