British American Tobacco New Zealandhas an exciting opportunity for a Trade Marketing Representative
The role of the Trade Marketing Representative (TMR) involves managing a designated geographical area, known as a “patch.” The job requires commercial business insight, planning skills, a focus on outcomes and energy with enthusiasm for success.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Achieve all operational targets (call rate, activity completion, conversion), maintain accurate IVY system data, follow the 8-step call process, upload relevant category photos, and deliver strong in-store execution.
- Effectively plan campaigns, build and manage patch plans, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines without supervision, and allocate resources using ROI principles to maximise impact.
- Apply knowledge of category dynamics, brand and channel performance, margins, pricing, and regulatory requirements to influence retailer decisions and drive profitability.
- Use data insights (Power BI, TMR Toolkit) to negotiate with retailers, adapt plans to store needs, identify opportunities within the patch, and monitor competitor activity.
- Demonstrate self-development, support high-performing teams, collaborate across functions, adapt to change quickly, and continuously seek ways to improve processes and results.
What are we looking for?
- 2+ years’ experience in FMCG or trade marketing roles; Marketing or Business qualification desirable.
- Strong trade marketing, commercial, planning, and territory management skills.
- Results-driven with analytical thinking and ability to prioritise and manage risks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Committed to continuous learning, team development, and adapting to change in an agile environment.
