British American TobaccoBotswana has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Analyst in Gaborone
The role is responsible for providing finance support for the delivery of sustainable profit growth through robust financial analysis, accountability in the execution of day-to-day finance transactions whilst supporting the maintenance of a robust control environment and leading improvement of financial discipline.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Management of external stakeholder relationships, including Banking Partners, BURS and external auditors
- Management of credit for distributor and support with payments
- Review and hygiene of the balance sheet including management of the global open items KPI and bank clearing process
- Preparation of the Annual Financial Statements and assisting with the group and statutory audit
- Processing of monthly financial accounting entries, including key accounting standard entries relating to IFRS 16
- Creation of fixed assets and maintenance of asset register for Corporate Functions
- Inventory management
- Preparation of monthly cashflow forecast
- Assisting with ad hoc global projects and master data user maintenance
What are we looking for?
- The job holder is required to at minimum a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Accounting/Reporting.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in a corporate accounting environment
- Strong IT skills (required to be capable in working on Accounting software (preferably SAP Financial Modules, Advanced MS Excel), enabling the incumbent to maintain management information systems as well as specify business requirements to develop or enhance current management information systems.
- The complexity requires an individual with proven potential, and strong management and interpersonal skills. Effective leader of new initiatives.
- Excellent communication and motivator of change. Proactive, persuasive and creative as the job holder will be responsible for improving systems and procedures.
- Able to demonstrate the need for, and ensure implementation of, appropriate systems, controls and processes. Able to work with all levels of staff within the company and handle relationships with key stakeholders
- Able to handle large volumes of information and present it in an accurate and relevant format.
- Able to work under pressure and keep to tight deadlines.
- A fast leaner who is agile and adaptable to a changing environment
