British American TobaccoZimbabwe has an exciting opportunity for a IWS Process Lead in Harare
The Purpose of the IWS Process Lead Role is to develop the operating teams’ technical understanding and mastery of process controls necessary for achieving the Compelling Business Need (CBN) through stringent application of Integrated Work Systems (IWS) tools. Is the owner of the following Daily Management Systems (DMS): Centreline DMS, Changeover DMS, and Change Management DMS. The IWS Process Lead owns the integrity of the Line Event Data System and is in charge of data analytics for line losses and reporting. Acts as the team’s expert in troubleshooting and problem solving and building capabilities of IWS.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Owns the Centerline Management system for the factory by establishing Centre Line targets & limits for the equipment owned by the team.
- Ensuring all Centre Lines audits are completed at the proper frequency.
- Leading Rapid Changeover events to identify additional opportunities to reduce changeover time as required by business need.
- Owns the Change Management Daily Management System (DMS) & validation processes.
- Owns the Changeover (CO) Daily Management System for the line(s) by reviewing changeover critiques and coaching shift teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities to achieve CO success criteria.
- Including process benchmarking & reapplication across processes, modules and plants.
- Analyses line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities including the creation of current state and future state loss trees using tools such as loss allocation and S-shape.
- Using Reliability Engineering tools to drive Centerline Daily Management Systems and loss elimination.
- Troubleshooting by leading root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the line(s) and coaching teams to build capability in problem solving skills and formal tools.
- Support Production Manager to foresee possible issues and ensure smooth production process of the factory.
What are we looking for?
- Degree in Mechanical, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or Analytical Chemistry
- Result oriented with the ability to achieve the target within given time.
- Ability to initiate/manage cross-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Effective coaching and strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in the areas of safety and quality.
- 2 working years’ experience or more in a factory setting.
- Good understanding of Knowledge of Secondary/QA operations.
- Familiarity with structured problem tools, such as fishbone diagram, 5 why, RCA
