JOB TITLE: Reporting Specialist IDT Recharges
FUNCTION: Commercial Finance
CITY & COUNTRY: KL, Malaysia
ROLE SUMMARY
This role supports the global GSD intercompany recharge process by issuing intercompany invoices, ensuring accurate financial postings, and assisting the IDT Recharges Manager during monthly closing and forecasting. It also involves responding to end‑market queries and providing accurate backup and insights.
Direct Impact:
The role ensures accurate and timely intercompany recharges, supports smooth month‑end close, strengthens financial controls, and enhances overall reporting quality across BAT entities.
Reports To - Reporting Services Manager – IDT Recharges
Core Relationships - IDT Corporate Finance, Intercompany & End‑Market Finance Teams, Cyber Security (as needed)
Geographic Scope - Global
- Manage intercompany recharges end‑to‑end, including quarterly/monthly invoicing, BPC posting (PL & BS), ensuring contracts are in place, and supporting accurate SAP financial data for revenues, accruals, and cash recovery.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to end markets and internal stakeholders—supporting understanding of actuals, forecasts, SOP variances, and underlying assumptions (allocation keys, cost by service line).
- Support IDT Recharges Manager by handling queries from Tax, external auditors, and other global functions, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and clarity of recharge‑related data.
- Ensure strong financial controls and operational accuracy, including accruals calculation and monitoring, cash flow accuracy, timely recovery from intercompany vendors, creation of cost centres/WBS, and maintaining correct financial postings.
- Build strong partnerships across BAT entities and GBS teams, ensuring timely information flow, resolving technical issues, supporting recharge processes, and performing ad‑hoc financial analysis as needed.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial finance role, ideally in an operations or manufacturing environment, with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence, partner effectively, and work across teams and functions.
- Hands‑on experience with finance systems, especially SAP, BPC, and Business Intelligence platforms, along with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment, applying critical thinking and attention to detail to interpret data and build insights.
- Relevant educational background, such as a degree in Economics or related field (Master’s/CIMA/ACCA advantageous), fluency in English, and 2–3 years’ FP&A/reporting experience in a multinational organization.
