The Regulatory Affairs Manager is responsible for driving strategic planning and execution within regulatory and policy-related domains. This role leverages data, insights, and external intelligence to identify risks and opportunities, supports executive decision-making through clear recommendations, and leads the planning and execution of regulatory-related initiatives and campaigns, and the direct engagement with external stakeholders.
This role plays a critical part in shaping how the company navigates regulatory environments and translates external changes into strategic advantage. The position directly contributes to executive decision-making and drives initiatives that impact both business outcomes and external engagement.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Strategy Development & Analysis
- Monitor and analyze regulatory, policy, and industry trends to identify implications for the business
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to generate actionable insights
- Support and partially lead the development of CORA strategies
- Formulate recommendations to mitigate regulatory risks and unlock business opportunities
- Executive Communications & Presentations
- Develop high-quality presentation materials for senior leadership (in English and Japanese where applicable)
- Structure complex regulatory topics into clear, compelling narratives
- Provide actionable insights and strategic options to support decision-making
- Ensure alignment of messaging across internal stakeholders
- Regulatory Planning & Execution
- Plan and drive execution of regulatory and policy-related campaigns and initiatives
- Conduct stakeholder mapping and develop engagement strategies
- Support advocacy efforts, including industry collaboration and external communications
- Track performance metrics (KPIs), monitor progress, and refine approaches as needed
- Stakeholder Management & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Public Policy, Business Units, Global Teams)
- Support engagement with external stakeholders such as industry associations and regulators
- Coordinate across functions to drive alignment and execution of strategic initiati
What are we looking for?
- 5–10 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, Public Affairs, Government Affairs or Regulatory engagement strategy-related roles. Background in government, consulting, or industry associations is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
- Proven experience in developing executive-level presentations
- Ability to structure and communicate complex topics clearly
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage and execute projects
- Experience working in cross-functional and/or global environments
- Fluency in Japanese, Business-level proficiency in English
