BAT is a global multi-category consumer goods business. In Japan, the gap between a good plan and a good result is almost always execution. Closing that gap is this job.

The role
You sit between the Japan commercial team and the regional marketing and finance planning teams, and you turn plans into things people can actually do — with owners, dates and a way of knowing whether they happened. Reporting to the Trade Operations Manager, you're the first person anyone asks when they want to know where a project stands.

What you'll own

• Translating the marketing plan into commercial execution plans that the field and key account teams can run

• Project management across functions — timelines, sequencing and the discipline to hold them

• The way we track commercial performance: designing the standard, not just filling in the template

• Performance against target — explaining the variance and proposing what we do about it

• Analysis of retailer point-of-sale and shipment data for our brands and key competitors, turned into something a commercial leader can act on

• Getting the right information to the right people at the right time — the unglamorous work that keeps a market aligned

• Finding and fixing the commercial processes that quietly waste everyone's week

What you'll bring

• Real project management experience — you've held other people to dates without having authority over them

• Strong Excel and PowerPoint, and reporting that senior people can read in one pass

• Accuracy and attention to detail, and the follow-through to close every action

• Useful, not essential: point-of-sale data analysis; presenting to a leadership team

Qualifications

• 5+ years across brand marketing, performance marketing or trade and commercial roles, ideally in an international consumer goods business

• A university degree

• Fluent written and spoken Japanese and English — both used daily
