British American Tobacco Indonesia has an exciting opportunity for a Scientist II Demand Planning Analytical in Malang, Indonesia
This role coordinates and manages demand planning for analytical testing at the Advanced Analytical Lab in Indonesia. It ensures standards, processes, systems, resources, and capabilities are in place to support BAT’s New Categories product innovation. As the key point of contact for analytical planning, the role provides supply and demand insights, forecasting, and capability planning to enable timely delivery of high-quality analytical data supporting BAT’s THR ambition
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and prioritise BAT Indonesia’s analytical testing demand by applying expert knowledge, providing clear capability and capacity planning, and managing supply/demand metrics through fit-for-purpose systems.
- Support the Analytical Planning team in developing and delivering effective supply/demand planning approaches and requirements to enable reliable analytical data generation for Quality Growth, product innovation, PLM, and Sustainable Future/THR objectives.
- Drive the effective use of planning systems, processes, and dashboards to capture supply/demand information, while providing training and support to partners to ensure successful adoption.
- Manage analytical sample tracking, storage, and lifecycle management processes to ensure sample integrity, compliance with data standards, and alignment with systems such as Data Pad and Genesis
- Develop and improve analytical sample management systems and ways of working to improve operational workflows and ensure consistent process adoption across interested parties.
- Consolidate and analyse large data sets to provide insights that support long-term planning, resource decisions, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- analytical data is delivered on time, fit for purpose, and meets required quality standards, data requirements, and business needs through digital transformation approaches.
- Maintain strong governance, clear ways of working, and adherence to key processes while providing technical leadership, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with EH&S responsibilities
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Science, or a related scientific discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience in analytical testing planning, prioritization, and scheduling, including managing demand across diverse products and laboratory environments.
- Proven knowledge of capacity planning, supply/demand management, and resource optimization to support efficient analytical operations.
- Experience using informatics tools, digital planning systems, and data management platforms to analyze data and maintain data quality standards.
- Understanding of laboratory governance and quality systems, including experience in ISO-accredited and/or GMP-compliant environments, with knowledge of LIMS and laboratory management systems.
- Experience implementing digital scheduling, capacity planning tools, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and coaching skills, with the ability to influence teams and drive adoption of systems and ways of working.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership, deliver projects independently and collaboratively, drive continuous improvement, and achieve business objectives with strong focus on timely delivery.
