Role Summary

As a key member of BAT Japan's Online D2C (direct to consumer) team, you will lead the planning, execution, and optimization of our direct-to-consumer promotional activities. This channel is increasingly strategic for BATJ, playing a crucial role in both capturing market share from competitors and accelerating our shift toward data-driven marketing.You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams—including Key Account, Marketing, Customer Experience, Supply Chain, and Corporate Affairs—as well as with external agencies and vendors. Your mission is to drive growth, elevate the consumer journey, and contribute to the commercial success of BATJ. This role requires a solid understanding of FMCG dynamics, digital marketing, analytics, and operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities

• D2C Strategy Development & Execution

  • Work with the D2C Manager to build data-informed strategies that balance ongoing D2C initiatives with broader Key Account plans.

  • Manage end-to-end execution of promotional campaigns, ensuring alignment with KPIs such as device penetration, CPA (cost per acquisition), and conversion.

• Performance Analysis & Optimization

  • Partner with analytics teams to monitor campaign performance and derive insights for continuous improvement.

  • Translate data into actionable recommendations to enhance consumer engagement and promotional ROI.

• Budget Management & Governance

  • Support annual budget planning and ensure accurate, timely tracking and reconciliation of campaign spend.

  • Maintain visibility through reporting and vendor payment follow-up.

• Capability Development & Project Leadership

  • Lead and support projects that develop new capabilities within the D2C domain, collaborating with cross-functional and external partners.

Experience Required

• 3+ years in marketing, project management, or digital campaign execution—preferably within FMCG, consulting, or marketing agency environments.

• Proven success in cross-functional campaign delivery.

• Experience managing internal teams and/or external agency relationships.

• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong ability to develop marketing briefs, business cases, and translate them into user stories or tactical plans.

• Organized and process-oriented: adept at documentation, SOP creation, and workflow optimization.

• Project and stakeholder management skills with clear, compelling communication abilities.

• Solid data literacy and analytical capabilities.
