BAT Vietnam has an exciting opportunity for a HR Business Partner role in Dong Nai, Vietnam.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Act as the HR Business Partner to the Primary Manufacturing Department (PMD) Management Team and Supply Chain Team, translating business priorities into practical people plans and advising managers on people decisions, team effectiveness, performance and organizational change.
- Represent HR in the Operations Integrated Work System (IWS), leading the HR contribution to the Organization pillar and embedding IWS standards into people processes.
- Own staff cost management, headcount planning and budgeting for the PMD and Supply Chain population, including labor cost control, workforce flexibility and the reward & C&B cycle.
- Ensure core HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll and time-and-attendance inputs, offboarding and policy compliance, are delivered effectively and consistently.
- Act as the single point of HR accountability for the Dong Nai site, partnering with the Factory Manager and factory leadership team on all site people matters.
- Lead industrial and employee relations, labor compliance and governance, including trade union partnerships, collective labor agreement negotiations, labor inspections, audits and relationships with DOLISA and industrial-zone authorities.
- Oversee the serviced contractor and outsourced workforce, HR administration, employee services and employee welfare programmes for the site.
- Own site engagement, culture and communication initiatives, including engagement surveys, recognition, employee events, and partnership with EHS on safety and wellbeing culture.
- Support the Operations talent agenda through talent reviews, succession planning, performance management, capability development, workforce planning and talent analytics.
- Develop the site HR team and coordinate HR service-delivery support to ensure effective HR operations and service continuity.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, role-model BAT Values, and promote an inclusive, safe and high-performance culture across the site.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a related field.
- At least three years of HR experience in a manufacturing or FMCG plant environment, including HR business partnering, employee and industrial relations, or a broad HR role with significant stakeholder-facing responsibility.
- Proven understanding of the Vietnam Labour Code and related regulations, with experience handling industrial and employee relations cases and the judgement to handle or raise them appropriately.
- Experience supporting talent reviews, succession planning, performance management, workforce planning, or capability development.
- Ability to understand operational priorities and translate them into clear people actions.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills; able to use workforce, cost and reward data to identify risks and support decisions. Proficient in Excel and HR systems
- Strong coaching, influencing, stakeholder management and facilitation skills; able to influence senior leaders and work across locations without direct authority.
- Comfortable in a shopfloor and shift-based environment; resilient, discreet and calm under pressure.
- Proficient in AI and digital productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, AI-enabled analytics), with the curiosity to apply them to HR work and build AI literacy in others.
- Fluent in Vietnamese and strong written and spoken business English.
