The role is responsible for overseeing corporate tax & indirect tax compliance and planning for Türkiye. This role involves managing tax risk, ensuring compliance with localtax regulations, and implementing strategies to optimize the tax position of the business. Tax Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and business operations, to support overall corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
- Perform a range of corporate tax compliance and/or advisory work to support the effective management of BAT’s corporate tax position, including corporate tax liabilities, tax reporting, transfer pricing and ensuring compliance with all statutory positions.
- Provide pro-active, high quality specialist advice, guidance, and expertise to execute tax management processes in areas such as corporation tax and international tax. Manage and drive ad-hoc taxation projects.
- Monitoring new tax legislation in Turkey and assessing the impact on BAT Turkey, advising the relevant stakeholders accordingly
- Take an active role on documentations, calculations and all other liabilities under Pillar 2 regulations.
- Review the CIT, Excise, VAT, WHT, stamp duty etc. declarations and ensure submission and payment of all tax declarations on time within the frame established by the legislation.
- Assisting with the collection of information and preparation of responses for all internal and external audits.
- Maintaining month-end/year end closure tasks.
- Coordinate and assist TP report preparation under the supervision of the Group TP team.
- Preparing quarterly corporate tax and deferred tax forecasts.
- Preparing half-year and year-end tax packs including tax schedules for the management reporting pack.
- Assisting Local and Area tax/finance teams with ad hoc requests and projects.
- Provide tax advice to other finance team members and relevant stakeholders for tax-related matters.
- To comply with Company EHS & Security policies – act as a role model as LT team
- To comply with all compliance procedures of the Company
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor's degree from related departments 8 years direct tax (corporate tax/tax compliance) experience in a corporate environment, including an audit firm (Big4 is an asset)
- Excellent corporate tax technical knowledge
- CPA (SMMM) certificate will be an asset
- A thorough understanding and knowledge of financial management and systems generally
- Advanced users of MS Office applications
- Assertiveness and drive
- Attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills with leadership presence
- Team player and strong communication skills
