ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
This role will be accountable for the development and execution of sourcing plans for all direct spend categories and Logistics (warehouse, transportation) across functions in locally/ regionally/ globally. To ensure compliance of all procurement activities adhere with global policies, standards, and platforms to deliver robust terms and conditions that lead BAT’s service delivery and commercial risk.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Deliver cost savings targets, including price, payment term improvements, cost optimization, productivity initiatives, and spend/e‑auction analysis in line with the Cost Reduction Program.
- Drive sustainability and CSR initiatives, ensuring compliance with EcoVadis, Intertek, legal, ethical, environmental, SOBC, SOX, sanctions, and risk assessment requirements.
- Lead supplier identification, evaluation, onboarding, performance reviews, SRM, relationship management, and ensure quality, cost, reliability, and continuity of supply.
- Manage supplier negotiations, contract drafting, renewals, lifecycle management, contingency planning, and ensure alignment with policies and regulations.
- Act as regional SPOC, contribute to supplier business reviews, and maintain strong governance and integrity standards.
- Support portfolio strategy, marketing initiatives, NPI projects, localization strategy, and specification harmonization.
- Collaborate with production and logistics to align procurement activities with operational needs and supply chain requirements.
- Conduct market research on trends, pricing, and supply risks while maintaining procurement data, tracking KPIs, and generating reports for informed decision‑making.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, with equivalent experience considered
- 3–5 years of proven experience in Procurement or related roles, with exposure to both Direct and Indirect Procurement (preferred).
- Strong commercial awareness, business insight, and project management capabilities.
- Proven knowledge of procurement processes, methods, and techniques, including sophisticated negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to drive service delivery, cost savings, innovation, and change.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional, global business environment and successfully prioritize multiple priorities.
- Detailed understanding of supply markets, supplier capabilities, competitor activity, geographic dynamics, and emerging trends.
- Familiarity with e‑auction platforms (e.g., FairMarket or similar systems) and digital procurement tools
