British American Tobacco Indonesia has an exciting opportunity for a Product Development in Malang, Indonesia
This role supports the development and deployment of Heated Products consumables from concept through product launch. You will apply technical and scientific knowledge to product prototyping, laboratory testing, data analysis, and sensory evaluation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet business, regulatory, and consumer requirements. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and ensures projects are delivered according to established timelines and research and development processes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead assigned workstreams within the Heated Products consumable deployment project portfolio.
- Conduct product prototyping, laboratory testing, sensory evaluations, and scientific data analysis to support product development.
- Provide technical recommendations and support to Senior Product Developers throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Ensure product development activities comply with internal research and development processes, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to support successful product implementation and commercialization.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in laboratory procedures and product development practices.
- Independently plan, prioritize, and manage assigned workstreams to achieve project objectives.
- Support knowledge sharing and provide guidance on product development processes and laboratory best practices to team members.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering, Food Technology, or a related product development discipline.
- Experience in product development, laboratory testing, prototyping, or product evaluation within FMCG, Food & Beverage, or a related industry.
- Strong ability to interpret analytical and sensory data and translate findings into practical technical recommendations.
- Knowledge of product development methodologies, testing procedures, and project management principles.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and technical curiosity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Good planning, organization, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
