British American Tobacco Mexico has an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence Developer in Monterrey
The Business Intelligence Developer supports the creation of reports and dashboards that enable data‑driven decisions. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career professionals looking to grow in Business Intelligence, data visualization, and analytics.
You will work closely with experienced BI team members to build Power BI dashboards, analyze data, and support business stakeholders, while receiving hands‑on training and clear growth opportunities within an Agile environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead and independently execute 1 to 3 Business Intelligence and Digital Analytics projects, from requirements gathering through delivery of insights.
- Translate business needs into analytical solutions, acting as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports, primarily using Power BI, with MicroStrategy as a strong plus.
- Perform data transformation, integration, and analysis from multiple data sources to generate actionable insights.
- Present findings, insights, and recommendations directly to stakeholders, clearly explaining results in a business-oriented manner.
- Define metrics, business rules, and reporting logic to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and quality.
- Work within Agile methodologies, managing priorities and adapting to changing requirements.
- Progress toward full ownership and leadership of assigned projects and activities after an initial onboarding and guidance period.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 2–4+ years of hands-on experience in dashboarding, data visualization, and BI delivery (4 years ideal, flexibility depending on profile strength).
- Hands-on experience with Power BI.
- Proven experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, SSRS, OBIEE, Qlik, or similar platforms.
- Strong data storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to engage directly with business stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of SQL (mandatory, basic to intermediate level) and Python (basic knowledge preferred).
- Exposure to BI and analytics architectures, including traditional data warehousing and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake).
- Advanced proficiency in English (written and verbal), strong learning agility, an analytical mindset, and excellent soft skills.
